about

"Natural Selections" was the last EP on ZeECc by The Nautilus Project, half a year before the label closed. It was also the digital preceding release of "Drowning in Nature", the massive full-length album which should follow some months later. But matters should turn out differently.

Due to the unforeseen circumstances with the label closure, the album went back into secrecy, waiting for the right moment and the most appropriate platform. Finally, "Drowning in Nature" found its worthy place on Forest Roots, and because of the story between both releases, the full album has been released on digital format, too.

So it came to happen that "Natural Selections" remained on the now defunct netlabel and built a bridge to the Forest Roots netlabel, where everything is about nature, indicated by the title of the EP. It was the time when The Nautilus Project marked the definite end of all nautical themes in the territory of dubtechno and turned towards the subjects of nature and forest, ranging between ambient, deep techno, drone and minimalistic stuff.

This publication was prepared to contain some of the most interesting remixes of tracks from the forthcoming longplayer, all of them made by very talented artists, such as Decoside, Ohrwert and Amfolyt. It is rounded up by two own tracks which were previously hold back.
