about

The Nautilus Project once stood for nautical, oceanic music and established its own, individual sound since its first release in 2008. All the typical structures and tonal aspects have been developed since then and have changed enormously since 2012. The project now began to work on two more reflective themes: atmospheric nature excursions (sort of a "shore vacation") and postmodern sci-fi world explorations (the future aspect as a contrast to the oceanic variant).

Some pieces that fit thematically to older releases were never materialized. They were either not finished yet or initially untouched to hold them up for eventual future releases.

With this release, The Nautilus Project now finishes the oceanic themes that have been collected and processed in the past. The tracks included here are the last of their kind that belong to the previous grid.

It contains the track "Ebb & Flow", which was released in 2011 as a 12inch compilation version on the ZeECc Netlabel. After some experimentation with the source material, a second edited version was written, and in order to complete all the work and bring all the threads together, the last, still withheld version of "20000 Miles Below" was added. Especially this last track was the one for which The Nautilus Project became known, supported by many remixers like Fluxion, Marko Fürstenberg, Christian Dittmann, just to name a few.

From now on, the music project is dedicated to new spherical soundscapes, which carry more ambient influences and more melodic passages, embedded in less stringent genre categorizations.
